So I went out and bought the wireless Mighty Mouse. My first impressions are not good. Although I like the functionality, it just doesn't feel right - it feels a little flimsy and I can't get used to the scroll wheel.
To top it all off, mine has a defect (it won't scroll left.only up/down/right). So I'm going to take it back to the Apple Store tomorrow. I think I'll end up getting something different, but I would like to keep with a Bluetooth one so I don't have to plug anything into my computer. I've been using the Targus AMB08US Bluetooth Laser Mouse for Mac since May when the scroll ball on my Mighty stopped working-check lots of forums and reviews and you'll see this is a common problem. Shame since I actually did like the MM.
The Targus is nice-white and gray colors and style fit in with Apple styling (if that's important to you). It has 2 thumb buttons that can be customized-I use one for the 'squeeze' functionality of the MM and the other as a Back button. One thing that people either love or hate it that instead of a scroll wheel or ball, it has an optical sensor for scrolling. Takes a little getting used to but I like it-was actually deciding factor for me since it's not a moving part like a typical scroll wheel/ball and thus can't breakdown in the same manner. I got mine from Amazon-currently they run just under $50.
