Award-Winning Sampler Updated with 64-bit Engine and Instrument Plug-In Hosting Montebello, CA (October 5, 2007): TASCAM has once again redefined the high-end of sampling workstations with GigaStudio 4. The new version supports 64-bit operating systems like XP64 and Windows Vista 64, allowing users to access up to 128 gigabytes of RAM for loading massive sample libraries and compositional templates. GigaStudio 4 also hosts VSTi and GVI virtual instruments, loading or stacking instruments alongside GigaStudio instrument libraries. When hosted in GigaStudio 4, virtual instruments based on TASCAM's GVI gain the advantages of kernel-level processing, offering lower latency than other host applications. Hundreds of enhancements have been made from GigaStudio 3, TASCAM's previous TEC Award-Winning sampling workstation, such as an all-new QuickSound database tool, additions to the QuickEdit interface and many user interface improvements.
' GigaStudio remains the industry standard for producers, composers and musicians who demand the best,' remarked Product Development Manager Jim Bailey. 'While many customers enjoy the ease-of-use and single-computer workflow of GVI, GigaStudio 4 offers the high-end user the ultimate solution for a dedicated instrument workstation. GigaStudio has enjoyed an almost exclusive use by top-grossing film composers, the most demanding sampler users, because of its reliability, sound quality and performance. GigaStudio 4 continues that tradition.' GigaStudio 4 builds on the features of GigaStudio 3, including unlimited polyphony, 96kHz/24-bit sample support, 128 MIDI channel playback and embedded GigaPulse convolution reverb. The iMIDI rule programming includes legato mode, round-robin, alternation, portamento, dynamic expression filters and more to add realism to sampled performances. The new version supports Windows XP and Windows Vista (32 and 64-bit versions).

11th April 2012 - Watford -, the brand synonymous with professional recording products, today introduced the iU2 premium sound-quality audio interface for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Now users can make use of all of the features of TASCAMs best-selling USB audio interfaces (including MIDI Interface and a pair of great-sounding microphone inputs) and easily connect directly to their iDevice. IU2 is available now with an SRP of £149.00.
Connection via Apples iOS 30 pin connector or USB for Mac/PC, the iU2 features microphone inputs that have phantom power for use with high-quality condenser microphones. These feed an onboard microphone preamp and A/D converter for better sound performance than those built into iPhone and iPad true stereo recording with low noise and less tendency to distort. The inputs also accept line-level signals or you can plug a guitar or bass directly into your device. In addition to compatibility with iOS devices, the iU2 also works with Mac and Windows computers. A zero-latency monitoring path allows musicians to hear themselves directly through the unit, without any distracting delay. MIDI in and out is provided to interface with synths and drum machines and a digital outputconnects to digital mixers or recorders.
